FTC finalizes Rules of Practice changes

The Federal Trade Commission unveiled final changes to internal Rules of Practice Part 2 concerning nonadjudicative investigations and attorney conduct. One rule allows agency staff to disclose an investigation to certain third parties. Another rule allows companies to destroy documents if there has been no written communication from the FTC about an investigation for one year. The rules are meant to streamline investigations and stay abreast of changes in e-discovery.
