Former FDA official warns of outside pressure on other drug issues

Susan Wood, the high-level Food and Drug Administration official who quit the agency to protest its handling of the Plan B morning-after pill over-the-counter issue, says other health advances could be sidetracked as a result of political pressure. She said opposition from conservative groups could delay approval of a new vaccine that protects against cervical cancer.
