Nielsen Media to measure VOD

Nielsen Media Research is launching a service to measure viewership of video-on-demand programming -- giving networks a clearer picture of how VOD is affecting traditional TV watching and offering marketers objective data for pricing ads. The new service, which launches Dec. 11, won't track programs that are streamed over the Internet or played back from digital-video recorders.
