Boeing announces delivery delays for three aircraft

Boeing Co. has announced delays on both its 747-8 Freighter and 747-8 Intercontinental passenger jet, now scheduled for delivery in 2010 and 2011, respectively. Boeing also expects a shorter delay of about two months in initial deliveries of its 777 Freighter. The aircraft maker said reasons for the delays "include supply chain delays driven by design changes to the airplane, limited availability of engineering resources inside Boeing and the recent machinists' strike that halted production in the company's factories."
