Computer-adaptive tests help focus instruction

A California teacher says she better understands her students' academic struggles after administering periodic computer-adaptive assessment tests, which alter the level of difficulty of the questions based on responses to previous questions. Learning the areas in which her students are struggling, helps Jeannine Ugalde, a humanities teacher, know where to focus her instruction, she says.
