Construction professionals rush to learn green

The construction sector is short on professionals skilled in environmentally friendly building. Architects and contractors are taking steps to educate themselves, and builders recognize that they will be at a competitive disadvantage if they don't become familiar with green construction. "Every developer I have ever met has told me that educating their team on green is crucial," said green-building consultant Kristen Bacorn. "Green is such a new and developing field that professionals don't necessarily know it, and they're craving education." Many are pursuing LEED accreditation, and AGC even offers its own one-day LEED course.
