Report: MRSA screening limited in Washington hospitals

Many hospitals in Washington do not routinely screen their patients for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus infection, according to a Seattle Times investigation. The newspaper said that since there are no laws mandating the screenings, Washington hospitals make up their own rules, often resulting in ineffective infection-control policies.
