Singapore builds world's first double-helix bridge

The unique structure of DNA inspired the design of the world's first double-helix pedestrian bridge in Singapore. The MarinaBay bridge also provides views of the city skyline with viewing pods suspended over the water. The double-helix span should be completed by the end of 2009, along with a vehicular bridge running parallel to the pedestrian bridge.
