Study: Common factors keep underserved from using IT

Specific barriers repeatedly deter underserved consumers and their health care providers, the elderly, and the chronically ill from using health care IT, according to a study by Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. After talking to specific target groups, the study found that common barriers include time constraints, lack of trust and patients not understanding the benefit of managing health care with a computer.
