Vetting recruits via social networks

Don't make a quick check of a MySpace or Facebook page your last stop before hiring a recent graduate for a first job, blogger McKenzie Koch advises. Instead, use social network entries as part of the vetting process. But, she notes, "a photo of your applicant with a drink in hand does not necessarily signal 'professional party girl' or 'fraternity's best beer-bonger.' "
