Employers should urge workers to document family-health history

Employers will not be allowed to ask for a worker's family-health history after Dec. 7 under the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act. While experts disagree whether it will impact wellness or disease-management programs, employers still can be proactive by educating workers about the importance of having a primary-care physician and documenting their family-health history.
