Toxic Substances and Control Act needs review, EPA head says

The Environmental Protection Agency's response to growing consumer concern about the safety of everyday chemicals includes plans to revisit the Toxic Substances and Control Act, said EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson. "And I think we're at a point in this country where both the chemical industry and the federal government, and the public-health community, really all three, are coming together to say we believe it's time to change that law, to strengthen it," Jackson said.
