ECB will continue to withdraw liquidity support, Stark says

Juergen Stark, a member of the European Central Bank Executive Board, said that as EU leaders grapple with a resurgent sovereign-debt crisis at the euro zone's periphery, the central bank will continue to withdraw from stimulus measures. "The phasing-out of our liquidity-support measures will continue after the end of the current quarter," Stark said. "In my view, conditions in both money and financial markets have improved significantly over recent months, notwithstanding the most recent tensions in some segments of the European sovereign-debt market."
