GOP lawmakers propose expanding drilling to help fund road projects

The U.S. should open more offshore sites to oil and natural gas drilling and use royalties from development to fund infrastructure projects, Republican lawmakers said. The proposal also calls for allowing exploration in a portion of the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge and establishes regulations for shale drilling. House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, hopes to advance the bill for a vote in the House of Representatives before year's end.
