Italy swears in a government of technocrats

An Italian government of technocrats went to work to reform Europe's third-biggest economy, after Mario Monti, a former EU competition commissioner, was sworn in as prime minister. Monti, an economics professor, said he will be finance minister as well. He named Corrado Passera, CEO of Italian bank Intesa Sanpaolo, as industry minister.
