Minn. district seeks to improve diversity in its gifted program

The Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan School District in Minnesota uses a weekly enrichment program to help ensure gifted-and-talented classes include students of color, English-language learners and students in poverty. The Young Scholars program is in place in 18 elementary schools. District data show participating students are more likely to be identified as gifted and talented.
