Neb. gubernatorial hopefuls promise to support wind power development

Nebraska state Sen. Annette Dubas and former University of Nebraska regent Chuck Hassebrook, who are both running for Nebraska governor, each agreed that Nebraska must capitalize on its abundant wind resources. "We need to make sure public power understands the incredible economic potential of wind energy," Dubas said. A third gubernatorial candidate, state Sen. Tom Carlson, said he is also in favor of wind power development, but believes that the state "ought to use the coal and oil available to us until it's gone."
