Alaska, Delta offer details on expanded partnership

Delta Air Lines and Alaska Airlines gave more details on their planned alliance during a Monday press conference at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The carriers, which already are code-share partners, will extend reciprocity of frequent flier miles and airport lounges by the end of next year. "Alaska Air Group is a perfect alliance partner for Delta as we pair our expansive international network with Alaska's leading presence across the West Coast to build a platform for international growth from the West," Delta CEO Richard Anderson said in a press release. Separately, Anderson said he has not talked with Alaska CEO Bill Ayer about merging the two carriers.
