L.A. regional airports feeling pain of cutbacks

Los Angeles World Airports says it will establish an Office of Regionalism to promote the growth of secondary facilities. But at least one airport commissioner is warning against promoting smaller airports at the expense of LAX, where passenger counts are expected to drop by about 7 million next year. Regional airports such as Ontario International are faring even worse, however, with carriers there expected to cut available seats by roughly one-third.
