Alaska's tourism industry touts attractions as cruising declines

This year, about 1 million cruise passengers will have visited Alaska, according to the Alaska Travel Industry Association. Next year, the group expects the state to welcome about 860,000 cruisers. The declining trend in cruise passenger visitors has prompted the state's tourism industry to step up its efforts promoting other attractions, including museums and cultural centers, and tours.
