Share markets across the Asian-Pacific region were mixed Wednesday, with momentum difficult to gain because of few participants. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index slipped 0.3%, China's Shanghai Composite gained 0.6% and Taiwan's Taiex climbed 0.4%. Japan's Nikkei 225 gave up 0.6%, New Zealand's NZX 50 inched down 0.1% and South Korea's Kospi Composite added 1.1%. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.2%, while Singapore's Straits Times Index dropped 0.7%.
