Burbank airport mulls noise-cutting alternatives

Officials with the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority in California said they would continue in their effort to restrict nighttime flights at the airport to reduce noise, despite this month's rejection by the FAA of a nine-year application for restrictions. Officials said they will look at bringing together lawmakers from affected cities and airlines to try to obtain a mandatory curfew, either through federal legislation or a negotiated settlement.
