N.Y. eHealth collaborative designated for HIE funding

New York Gov. David Paterson has designated New York eHealth collaborative, or NYeC, to be the state's recipient of federal stimulus funds allocated under the HITECH Act. NYeC already has state and private funding totaling $450 million. "In light of the economic environment, the state had the foresight and the commitment to health IT not to cut the budget," said the NYeC's board chairwoman.
