Fed will subject major banks to another round of stress tests

The Federal Reserve has ordered a second round of stress tests for the country's top 19 banks to determine whether their financial position is sound enough to start increasing stock dividends. The Fed said the banks must submit capital plans that show the lenders' ability to weather an adverse economic landscape. The Fed said it plans to conduct such stress tests "on a regular basis." The latest round of assessments was not prompted by any particular concern, government officials said.
