Mark Twain commemorative coin sales to benefit historic sites

Congress has authorized the minting of $1 and $5 Mark Twain commemorative coins, with the estimated $7 million expected to be earned from their sale going toward renovating and maintaining libraries and museums dedicated to the writer, including the Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum in Hannibal, Mo., and three other sites. The sites must first raise matching funds that equal the federal gift from the coins, to be minted in 2016. The bill awaits President Barack Obama's signature.
