Panama Canal expansion to use 5.5M y3 of concrete

Work on the $5.25 billion expansion of the Panama Canal will require approximately 5.5 million cubic yards of concrete to be poured prior to the completion of the three-chambered locks. The project, which uses 228 contractors and 13,000 workers, is expected to be finished in April of 2015, six months late, but still on budget.
