Many state health departments are implementing best practices and technological advancements to modernize the IT platforms they use, according to the results of a survey published by Microsoft and the American Public Human Services Association. The report found 57% of agencies surveyed have not upgraded their IT systems, but the majority of them will pursue modernization within the next three to five years. The findings also show good program management practices, due diligence and proper leadership could help agencies get gradual benefits from IT modernization despite challenges.
