Behavioral detection is effective, says TSA chief

Transportation Security Administration head John Pistole defended the TSA's Screening of Passengers by Observation Techniques program in a recent hearing. The Government Accountability Office claims that evidence does not show that the TSA's behavioral indicators can identify flight risks. "That’s also a purpose of SPOT and behavioral detection officers -- to serve as a deterrent to a threat we may never know existed," Pistole said.
