Bill would let foreign producers operate in Mexican fields

A proposal to open up Mexico's oil reserves to international energy players is gaining support as debate on the measure is expected to come soon. Two of Mexico's biggest political parties have reached an agreement to propose a bill that would allow foreign companies to apply for licenses for oil projects. "The era of easy oil has passed. We have to share the risks," said Mexican lawmaker Javier Trevino.
