ESMA chairman questions banks' accounting practices

Steven Maijoor, chairman of the European Securities and Markets Authority, says major banks' accounting practices differ greatly, raising questions for investors and possibly undermining financial stability. "Our general line is there should be more tailor-made disclosures to increase investor confidence in these banks," Maijoor said.
