Expect states to require disclosure of uncertain tax positions

Prentice D. Barbee, CPA, argues that it's only a matter of time before states, in search for more revenue, require disclosure of uncertain tax positions, similar to a federal requirement. States including California and Wisconsin have enacted laws requiring taxpayers to attach their federal Schedule UTP to their state return, while other states require the entire federal return, including Schedule UTP.
