Heart valve a hybrid of metal, human cells

A heart valve created from a metal scaffold coated with a three-dimensional cell culture of muscle, connective tissue and lining cells held up in early testing with a heart simulator, according to this article. The valve could prove superior to tissue-engineered heart valves from patients' cells, which have not remained functional for long enough.
