IBM, Nvidia to collaborate on supercomputer chips

IBM and Nvidia say they'll work together on supercomputer chips that pair IBM's Power processors with Nvidia's Tesla graphics processing units. The combination will be available next year, the companies said. Nvidia also announced the Tesla K40 graphics processor, which it says can provide 1.43 teraflops of performance.
