Nearly 60 tax extenders set to expire Dec. 31

Fifty-seven federal tax deductions are due to expire Dec. 31, including those for individuals for state and local taxes, and a provision that allows tax-free distributions from individual retirement accounts for charitable contributions. There's no "impetus in Congress to move a separate extenders bill," said Edward Karl, vice president of taxation for the AICPA.
