School leaders look to manage hardware, software on campus

The rise of bring-your-own-device and one-to-one technology programs reportedly has led to additional challenges for districts' leaders charged with managing and monitoring the devices. Some say they now are using mobile-device management systems to keep track of district-owned hardware and determine when it is time to replace or repair the devices. Some districts also are setting policies regarding how the devices may be used, including limiting access to certain websites.
