"Sesame Street"-based program promotes healthy living in preschoolers

Participation in a five-month program that uses "Sesame Street" characters yielded improvements in preschoolers' health knowledge and attitudes toward healthy habits, U.S. researchers found. The number of Colombian children who made a firm decision to have a healthy weight increased from 62.1% at the beginning of the study to 75% three years later. The findings were presented at the American Heart Association's Scientific Sessions.
