No Consensus Reached At SAT Forum

College Board President Gaston Caperton defended the SAT on Nov. 17 at a forum of educators, administrators and college admissions officials in Santa Barbara, Calif., saying that states should instead throw more money at poorly performing schools to lift those who struggle on the exam. University of California President Richard Atkinson has proposed dropping the SAT as an admission requirement for UC schools in favor of the subject-based SATII.
