Report: Older patients subject to more medication errors

Geriatric patients had more mistakes made in their hospital medication than other patients and suffered more harm from the mistakes, according to a recent report from U.S. Pharmacopeia, a medical-safety advocacy organization. The report found that 3.47% of seniors suffered harm from medication errors, as opposed to a 1.67% reported incidence of harm in the overall patient population.
