FDA approves drug from Bayer, Onyx to fight liver cancer

Onyx Pharmaceuticals and partner Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals obtained U.S. approval to market the kidney drug Nexavar for the treatment of unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma, a form of liver cancer. The decision makes the drug the first systemic therapy for liver cancer to obtain regulatory approval.
