New insulin pump shows promise for diabetics

British researchers are testing a new insulin pump that delivers insulin doses through the layer of tissue beneath the skin of patients with Type 1 diabetes. A clinical trial of the device, which imitates the functions of the body's pancreas, showed an improvement in quality of life and positive results in patients.
