Confusion abounds regarding control of AIG

After reading the terms of the U.S. Treasury's investment in AIG, columnist Steven M. Davidoff writes, he is not sure who controls the insurer. Davidoff attempts to sort out control rights, which involve the Treasury, the Federal Reserve and AIG shareholders. He writes that the confusion may be related to legal or accounting rules, or it may be because of politics.
