Horizon asks Bombardier to delay delivery of turboprops

Hampered by its inability to sell off old planes, Horizon Air said yesterday it would seek to delay delivery of eight Q400 turboprops from Bombardier Aerospace. Seeking to transition to an all-Q400 fleet, Horizon last year placed firm orders for 15 planes with a total list price of $393 million. In a regulatory filing, however, Horizon said it is seeking to delay deliveries until 2010 or later.
