Judge sides with United in summer sick-out case

A federal judge says she will issue a preliminary injunction against a branch of the Air Line Pilots Association after finding that the union encouraged a July sick-out at United Airlines in violation of the Railway Labor Act. United sued the union and four individual members on July 30, blaming the work stoppage for the cancellation of 329 flights that cost about $8 million in revenue.
