Messaging use grows 10% in Q3

Text messaging grew 10% globally in the third quarter compared with the previous period, according to VeriSign, which facilitates message deliveries. VeriSign said that amounted to 58.3 billion messages that it passed along per day during the quarter. It cited new uses of the technology -- such as political, marketing and social -- as the main reasons for the rise in sending messages.
