Nathan Myhrvold, once chief technology officer at Microsoft, has developed an interest in molecular gastronomy, and is working on a cookbook that he hopes will be the definitive guide for cooks. The book is already 1,500 pages long and covers issues ranging from microbiology to formulas for making gels from fruits and vegetables.
