AHRQ survey finds data exchange challenges for practices

An Agency for Health Research and Quality survey indicated that about 50% of medical practices have experienced data exchange challenges in the past year, including lack of access to patient charts, health records, and lab or imaging test results when needed. The survey also found that 82% of practices had electronic appointment scheduling, 51% were using electronic health records and 41% were ordering drugs electronically.
