Senate OKs delay on Medicare payment cuts to physicians

U.S. senators Thursday voted to postpone a 23% cut in Medicare physician payments that would have taken effect Dec. 1, agreeing to keep current levels through the end of the year and work on a long-term solution. The House still must approve the monthlong postponement, which will cost $1 billion over 10 years.
