Bankrupt FiberTower eyes huge service shutdown

FiberTower is blaming federal officials for forcing the company to shut off data service to a large part of its carrier clientele on Dec. 9, following the collapse of a $22.5 million sale of the bankrupt outfit's assets. FiberTower said the Federal Communications Commission brought on the move by canceling its license for wireless frequencies it used to transmit data in a number of cities.
