Second screens open up world of social TV possibilities

American Express, Verizon and Target are among the marketers trying to convert buzz over social TV into actual sales through the use of second-screen applications tied to specific programming. "No one wants to see a pop-up in the middle of their program they love saying, 'Buy this!' " said Lou Paskalis of American Express. "The primary screen is not the way to drive the commerce."
