Burger King signs partner to open eateries in India

Burger King has formed a joint venture with Asia-based investment and real estate firm Everstone Group to start opening restaurants in India, a market that already boasts a large and growing group of US chains including McDonald's, Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts and Yum! Brands' Pizza Hut, KFC and Taco Bell. McDonald's entered India in 1996 and now operates 300 units, including the chain's first vegetarian-only eatery, which opened earlier this year.
